This crystal was something new. We had seen dynamic ones before, but this had a diversity we did not expect.
It had a very specific structure, but depending on where we looked, its composition was made up of completely different material, some parts solid, some parts even made up of different gases, though still completely linked.
What was interesting was how the crystal reacted to intrusions of non-crystalline structure. Because of its internal dynamism, some process within would bubble up material to bond with any intrusive material in new, and stronger ways, fixing it in place, essentially turning it into a part of the crystal itself.
It took us weeks to examine its full extent, eventually finding even living organisms within.
